Fall through spring provide winds that can prevent offshore fishing or diving. This said, the fish are always there and windows of calm make for outstanding trips. December, January and February offer trolling for large wahoo that school in the Flower Garden and Stetson Bank areas. The 12 hour day trip can work for wahoo at the Flower Garden Marine Sanctuary.
